How SEO-Optimized Collection Pages Helped Elephantito Rank for Hundreds More Keywords—And How It Can Work for Your Brand Too

When Elephantito, a luxury children’s footwear brand, first launched its Shopify store, most of its product catalog lived under a single umbrella: one “All Shoes” collection. This setup was simple, but it came with a major drawback—it limited the site’s ability to target specific, high-intent keywords.

At Fortune Marketing, we saw this as a huge SEO opportunity.

The Problem: One Page, Too Many Intents

Google needs clear signals about what each page on your site is about. When you place every product in a single collection, you dilute keyword relevance and compete with yourself for search traffic. Elephantito’s single collection couldn’t rank for terms like:

  • “Girls leather mary janes”
  • “Boys dress shoes toddler”
  • “Baby girl sandals size 3”

Why? Because all those SKUs were jammed into one generic page. No topical focus = no rankings.

The Strategy: Niche Collection Pages

We broke the “All Girl Shoes” and “All Boys shoes”  collection into multiple, intent-focused categories: Girls Sandal,  Mary Janes, Boots and Booties, Girls  Espadrilles, Loafers and Moccasins

Each page had its own SEO-friendly URL, unique title tag, meta description, H1 header and internal links.

Suddenly, each collection page sent a strong topical signal to Google. That allowed us to start ranking for long-tail keywords with commercial intent—the kind that actually drives revenue.

Our strategy includes strategically adding internal links from relevant blog content to boost the page’s authority and ranking for valuable, revenue-driving keywords as well.
